From Salvador get the ferry-boat from Bom Despacho, na ilha de Itaparica and on the other side of the bay take the buses Águia Branca e Cidade Sol to Itacare. Ilheus bus station to Itacare use the bus company Rota, 1 hora e 40 mins travel time. For trips inside Itacare the minimum taxi fare is R$15,00.

Leaving Salvador get the ferry-boat to Bom Despacho, na ilha de Itaparica and arrival take the BA-001 (3.30-4.00 horas de viagem) Another way is the BR 101, avoiding the ferry boat (via Ilheus). (5.00-6.00 horas de viagem)
